Nectar Tasting Room

We're all about blogs turning into businesses here at Team SpoCOOL, at least if the result is successful. Which, from our point of view, Nectar Tasting Room is.

In terms of space, it exudes a quiet elegance. Exposed brick walls, warmly lit by fixtures that reflect the design of their logo. Simple but elegant tables pair nicely with a handful of couches. The space has a comfortable vibe, one that feels inviting and laidback. This is a good thing.

Menus come in both paper and iPad form, the latter which definitely will create some buzz. It also works from a functional standpoint, allowing you to rate the wines and look up your favorites for future visits. Sadly the digital menu doesn't line up with its paper incarnation, making it a bit of a struggle to cross reference items.

Five wineries are currently permanently featured—all Washington based, though sadly none of them from Spokane—and the choices all come in at nice price points. You can choose from flights, 2 oz "splashes," 5 oz "sips", or whole bottles. On Saturdays from 9-10pm you can partake in "Final Sip" for $10, which basically is a wine equivalent of "kill the keg."

All in all, we enjoy this spot quite a bit. Its location is part of what has become quite the destination for Better Tasters, finding itself on the same block as Sante, Sushi.com and Hill's.

Nectar Tasting Room should be a regular stop for anyone who enjoys wine. And, really, who doesn't?
